This is the year I went from drawing stick figures to something resembling fashionable humans. The “Face on Mars” collection was the final project for my Intro to Sketching class. The year was 2006 and not only was I fixated on the pictures coming from NASA and the sand dunes on Mars, I was obsessed with re-breathers.
I struggled with sketching so I thought having a computer generated 3D version of my designs would be easier than sketching; turns out, it’s not. I created a 3D version of one of my dresses in Second Life. The result was beautiful but there was a steep learning curve. The sketch below features the mythical Face on Mars.
